As we head into the middle of winter, I can’t help but fantasize about the warmth of spring sunshine and the bright, beautiful, colorful blooms. I always feel at peace in nature and recently have discovered that autumn is just as great of a time to be outdoors as much as summer and spring are!
Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve
This past autumn, I visited The Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve in New Hope, PA. It was so relaxing to walk along the trails, do some leaf peeping, and just enjoy not being in New York City. (I’d like to add that while I don’t completely dislike New York, it is a high-stress environment that I need to remove myself from every now and then.)
I’d venture to say that the wildflower reserve also makes a great destination in the winter months. Just think of it as your own personal, peaceful winter wonderland… the infinite quiet and the sparkling snowscapes.
Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve is located at 1635 River Rd in New Hope, PA.
Hewn Spirits & Peddler’s Village
If you’re down for some more adventure, make sure you take the drive to Hewn Spirits. Make sure to check and see what’s doing on in town that day; my friend and I happened to be in the middle of town during a festival, which seems like it was a big to-do! Because of the festival, my friend and I weren’t able to do a tasting, but we were able to sit down, take a breather and unwind with our drinks while debating on whether or not to drive to Philly for cheesesteaks.
Hewn Spirits is located at 40 Peddlers Village in New Hope, PA.
If you have the time, be sure to take a look around New Hope and Peddler’s Village. Peddler’s Village is full of cute and cozy small businesses, and if you’re into antiques, there are so many shops dotted around New Hope.
Oh, and to answer your question… yes… we got the cheesesteaks! I like mine wit’ whiz.
Pat’s King of Steaks is located at 1237 E Passyunk Ave in Philadelphia, PA and is cash only.
